Virtual Venture Competition launched
Virtual-Venture-Competition
Virtual Venture Competion — a global business-building contest initiated by McKinsey & Company — launched today. This is a really huge worldwide Second Life project. I know who worked on it, but with respect to strict policies I am not allowed to tell you. But I know that most of the day in the last two months the designer shot pictures, designed the website, built 3D avatars and created icons and buttons. It must have been a really challenging job but a lot of fun at the same time. As far as I know, the responsible team at McKinsey was really great and very professional. I heard the designer giving special thanks to Dirk, Arne, Martin and Jan at McKinsey & Company. Now, go check the website and register for the competition. The deeper you get the more features of the website will be revealed… Spiegel Online is the exclusive media partner, so you will find updates there as well.
transmediale.07 — Designing your Second Life

There was a interesting panel discussion at the transmediale.07 about Designing your Second Life. I think Joachim Stein explained some very interesting aspects about certain copyright issues in Second Life.
WEB2DNA art project
dna
Similar to the Webpage Visualizer the WEB2DNA project analyzes a webpage and “crunches it to little bits and spits it out as a graphic representation of a human DNA”. The brighter your DNA appears the semantically richer is your page.
Webpage visualizer
Pasted Graphic
I found this at anina.net and spreeblick.com. It’s an html parser that visualizes the html tags as a graphic. It’s both revealing and making fun. This is what my current blog looks like but you can enter any web address here to create a graph of your own web site.

„Web 2.0 ist keine Technologie, sondern ein Konzept. Das wird of verwechselt. Es gibt zwar Core-Technologien und gemeinsame Nenner, aber letztendlich ist Web 2.0 so etwas wie eine große Koalition, erkennbar vor allem daran, dass jeder plötzlich mit jedem kann.“ [debug #98]
